Blood pressure is stopping everything now

Image
Last month, I had two appointments that had to be stopped because my blood pressure readings were too high to safely proceeded (230/120). The first of these appointments was at the start of the month and was for an endoscopy, which I wasn't too heartbroken about it being cancelled, but I did go to see my GP afterwards, to see what he could do to ensure the next one would go ahead. My GP wrote an email to a consultant he knew of in cardiology, who may be interested in my "interesting" case. He also doubled up my dose of Propranolol to 2 x 40mg / day. This only lasted for a couple of days as I started feeling very unwell, and couldn't keep out of the toilet, so back down to 2 x 20mg/day for me. The following week was my appointment with the respiratory lab, and once again the same thing happened. After about 20 minutes of setting up, my blood pressure was checked and again it was far too high to consider doing any exertion, so the appointment was cancelled.  A few days...

I can reduce NHS waiting times I had a thought, my petition to change NHS Forth Valley policy on out of area referrals will also reduce hospital waiting times. The more people there are that are having the same problem with referrals to out of area specialists, the more others on a waiting list will benefit. Here's how...

Garden display during Bo'ness Fair

Image
Raising awareness for Vasculitis and for my petition to change NHS Forth Valley's policy on out of area referrals With Bo'ness Fair only a few days away, and with the intention to do a Outside the Box tour of Forth Valley, I have created a basic garden display to help get this kickstarted. I will be raising awareness for Vasculitis and also for my petition to change NHS Forth Valley policies on Out of Area Referrals and on how specialists (with no expertise in treating Vasculitis) are assigned to Vasculitis patients. The garden display shows a person chained to a heavy block, highlighting that NHS Forth Valley have to give their permission before I can be allowed to travel to an adjacent health board for treatment. No travel without NHS Forth Valley's permission. The pine box is going to be used for the Outside the Box Tour of Forth Valley. It is portable and can be dragged around. It catches your attention and is useful in holding the banner. If I can, I hope to tour some ...

Outside the Box Tour of Forth Valley

Its just 4 more days until the Bo'ness Fair on Friday. The Thursday before that is typically the day that everyone walks around viewing the displays that people have created. To make the most of this, I have created a temporary garden display which publicises my petition for change at NHS Forth Valley. After the Fair, the plan is to tour the Forth Valley area talking to people and asking them if they will support my cause. The  Outside the Box Tour of Forth Valley This will hopefully provide more names for my petition, identify some people that are having a similar experience with NHS Forth Valley and will also raise awareness about Vasculitis. As a secondary benefit, it will take me outside my comfort zone and get me communicating with people, it should increase my fitness and help me to shed a few pounds (currently 10st 11.5lb).
